Best bits: Frankfurt Motor Show

The Frankfurt Motor Show has come to an end, Unfortunately we were unable to make it to the show this year but thanks to the internet, we’re able to show you the best bits from the event.

Mercedes AMG Project One

Quick specs

  • Formula One based 1.6 turbo charged V6 hybrid petrol mid mounted engine (ahead of the rear axle)
  • 740 kW (1,000 hp)
  • Automated AMG 8-speed manual transmission.
  • Revs up to 11,000 rpm
  • One electric motor assists in reduction of turbo lag

900 Nm of torque in a Bentley is ridiculous but hey, no ones complaining.

Renault Megane RS

Audi have changed their sports division name from Quattro to Audi Sport and this is the first car to come out of it. Audi say this is a car for driving purists and its similar to their GT racing cars.








Hyundai i30 N

This is the first car to come out Hyundai’s N division which is now managed by ex BMW M division Albert Biermann. This should definitely be a good competitor for cars in that class like the Renault Megane RS and Ford Fiesta ST.




BMW Z4 Concept

Since this is only still a concept, there are now official performance figures. BMW created this sporty, athletic concept to give you an idea of what the actual car will look like when it debuts in 2018. Based on its exterior looks I presume  this will definitely be a drivers car.









Honda Urban EV Concept

Quick specs

Speaking of concepts, Honda unveiled this cute retro hatchback at the show as a introductory vehicle from their EV vision. The car looks like an old golf but still carries a futuristic element to it. It has seats for four and has a ‘wrap around panoramic dashboard screen ‘. This is a completely new platform and is a representation of the company’s direction towards electric cars. Honda say that a production model will be on the road in 2019.
