Mercedes Uber SUV gets a modern interior update while the exterior still looks iconic
Almost 40 years later the G-Class or G-Wagen is still going strong. The new generation of Mercedes oldest SUV in production was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show.
Mercedes say that this car still follows its philosophy of sensual purity and that it still maintains true to its character. The G-Class launches with more tech than it’s predecessor- electric steering – self-parking. The new car is lighter but is bigger with a 53 mm increase in length and 121 mm width. It comes as a G500 with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 providing 416bhp with a claimed mpg of 25mpg. A new 9-speed transmission is also added in and adaptive dampers for stability. If you’ve been waiting for the new G-Class and your planning to receive it during the summer then be prepared to spend roughly £95,000.
