Bad news! As of yesterday London’s extra £10 charge has come in to effect.

This charge applies to any petrol or diesel vehicle registered before 2006. TFL say it is the first step towards the introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone. The charge will be applied alongside the current Monday to Friday 7am-6pm charge so it’ll cost £21.50 to drive in to London in the affected zone if your car falls in the surcharge category. One of the main concerns raised by Sadiq Khan, is the affect fossil fuelled powered cars affect the health of Londoners, “With nearly 10,000 Londoners dying early every year due to air pollution, tackling poor air quality is a public health emergency that requires bold action.”(Sadiq Khan)
